SSC JE 2026: What’s New This Year?
The SSC JE 2026 Notification introduces several important changes to the recruitment process and examination pattern. Candidates preparing for the examination should be aware of the following key updates:
- Junior Engineer (Telecom) and Scientific Assistant (IMD) posts have been included in the SSC JE 2026 recruitment.

SSC JE 2026 Age Limit
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)
The SSC JE 2026 age limit varies depending on the post and department. The maximum age limit is 30 years for certain posts and 32 years for others. Candidates must meet the prescribed age criteria as of August 1, 2026.
- Posts with an age limit of up to 30 years: Candidates should be born not earlier than August 2, 1996, and not later than August 1, 2008.
- Posts with an age limit of up to 32 years: Candidates should be born not earlier than August 2, 1994, and not later than August 1, 2008.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories may be eligible for age relaxation as per the Government of India rules mentioned in the official SSC JE 2026 notification.
SSC JE 2026 Age Relaxation

SSC JE Recruitment 2026 – Online Form

SSC JE 2026 Application Fee

SSC JE Application Correction 2026
Candidates who have successfully submitted their SSC JE 2026 application can make corrections during the application correction window from September 28 to 30, 2026. The Commission will charge a correction fee as follows:
- First correction and resubmission: ₹200
- Second correction and resubmission: ₹500

How to Apply for SSC JE 2026?
Candidates can apply for the SSC JE 2026 Examination online through the official SSC website or the mySSC mobile application. Follow the steps below to complete the application process:
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit ssc.gov.in and complete the new One-Time Registration process. OTR details created on the old ssc.nic.in website will not be valid on the new SSC portal.
- Fill the Online Application Form: Log in using your registered credentials and complete the SSC JE 2026 Online Application Form through the SSC website or mySSC mobile app.
- Aadhaar-Based Authentication: Candidates who opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR will not be required to separately upload a photograph and signature as per the standard specifications. They will also not be required to carry a physical photo ID at the examination venue, subject to the applicable SSC instructions.
- Photograph and Signature: Candidates who do not use Aadhaar-Based Authentication must capture a live photograph through the application module and upload a scanned signature in JPEG format, with the prescribed size of 10–20 KB and approximately 6 cm × 2 cm dimensions.
- Select Post and Technical Subject: Select the preferred organisation/post and the appropriate technical subject (Part-A to Part-G) according to your educational qualification. The technical subject selection cannot be changed after submission.
- Pay the Application Fee: Pay the applicable application fee through the available online payment methods and submit the application form before the deadline.
- Submit Before the Deadline: The last date to submit the SSC JE 2026 application form is September 22, 2026, up to 11:00 PM (23:00 hrs).
- Use the Correction Window: If corrections are required after submission, candidates can use the SSC JE Application Correction Window from September 28 to 30, 2026. The correction facility is chargeable at ₹200 for the first correction and resubmission and ₹500 for the second correction and resubmission.

SSC JE 2026 Selection Process
The SSC JE 2026 selection process consists of three stages. Candidates must qualify at each applicable stage to be considered for appointment to the respective posts.
- Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination): Paper-I is qualifying in nature and is used to shortlist eligible candidates for Paper-II.
- Paper-II (Computer-Based Examination): Paper-II plays a key role in determining the final merit. Candidates’ normalized scores are considered for the preparation of the final merit list.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted after the final result will undergo Document Verification conducted by the respective User Department/Organization.
SSC JE 2026 Exam Pattern
The SSC JE 2026 examination will be conducted in two papers. Paper 1 carries 200 marks, while Paper 2 carries 300 marks. Both papers are conducted in Computer-Based Examination (CBT) mode.
There is negative marking in both papers. In Paper 1, 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer, while in Paper 2, 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

The SSC JE salary is based on Pay Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC). SSC JE 2026 Admit Card
The SSC JE 2026 Admit Card will be released by the Staff Selection Commission separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates who successfully submit their application and meet the eligibility requirements can download their admit card from the official SSC website or the respective regional SSC website.
Candidates must download and print their admit card and carry it along with the required documents and a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre. The admit card will contain important details such as the candidate’s exam date, shift, reporting time, examination centre, roll number and exam-day instructions.

SSC JE 2026 Result
The SSC JE 2026 Result will be released by the Staff Selection Commission after the completion of each stage of the examination. SSC will publish the results online on its official website, ssc.gov.in.
Candidates can check their results by entering the required login details or through the result PDF, depending on the format released by SSC. The result will indicate the candidates who have qualified for the next stage of the selection process.
The SSC JE Cut-Off marks will also be announced along with the respective result or separately, as decided by SSC.
SSC JE 2026 Cut Off
The SSC JE 2026 Cut-Off will be released separately for the different stages of the examination. The Paper 1 cut-off will be announced first, followed by the Paper 2 cut-off.
The cut-off marks may vary according to the engineering discipline, category and examination stage. Candidates who score equal to or above the prescribed cut-off and fulfil the other requirements will be considered for the subsequent stage.
